Is your bad website costing you money?
This may cause you to chuckle though it’s no laughing matter. Your website is the centerpiece to all your advertising or as we like to say: the center of your marketing world. Think about it. Everything leads to your website.
If someone gets your name from a friend, see your ad or read a listing in a directory, the first thing they do is go check out your website. So, is your bad website costing you money?
First impressions count
1 to 2 seconds is all you have to make a great first impression. When someone lands on your website, they decide in a couple of seconds whether they’re going to stay or go. People judge a book by its cover and a business by its website. If you blow that first impression, you may have lost a potential customer forever as you won’t get a second chance to make a first impression.
How much money do you think you’ve lost over the years when people have left your site without contacting you?
What does your website say?
Put yourself in the shoes of a potential customer and take a fresh look at your site. Does it look like the neighbor’s kid built it? Is the look and information outdated? If the answer is yes, then you are likely losing money when people land on your website and then quickly click away.
Looks do matter
Whether you like it or not, people do judge a business by the looks of their website. A bad website tells them you don’t care enough about your business to invest money in a good website. If you don’t care about that, there’s probably other things you don’t care about, like customer service or putting out a great product.
Simply put, a bad website is costing you money and anything costing you potential sales should be a high priority to fix. After all, if one of your employees was throwing money out the window, wouldn’t you stop them? Of course, you would. While that example may seem a little silly, it’s the same principle at work.
Take action to prevent loss
A bad website causes people to leave and every person that leaves your website without contacting you is a lost sale. If that person would have become a regular customer, you could easily be throwing away thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars in revenue now and in the future. The answer is simple: take action to prevent further loss as your bad website is and will continue to cost you money if nothing is done.
